Seven new DVB webinars available to view on demand
The COVID-19 related cancellation of DVB World 2020 prompted the swift creation of a series of webinars based on the conference programme. The webinar series ran over the past three weeks and attracted more than 550 participants, many of whom attended several.
All seven webinars are now available to view in the webinars section of the DVB website, with the related slide decks also available for download.
At the time of writing, the combined total number of post-event views for the videos stands at more than 1,200.
DVB-I masterclass
The webinars included a three-part series based on what would have been the pre-conference masterclass at DVB World 2020, on Deploying DVB-I Services:
- Part 1: Encoding and packaging for DVB-I services
- Part 2: DVB-I Service Lists & Programme Information
- Part 3: Building a reference client for DVB-I
Ultra HD Forum & DASH-IF
Both of the Programme Partners for DVB World 2020 kindly agreed to extend their collaboration into this webinar series, resulting in a pair of longer events. They were the best attended of the series, thanks to the additional promotion from the respective partner organization.

Multicast & beam hopping
The first webinar of the series was among the best attended, focusing on one of DVB’s newest specifications, Multicast ABR. Completing the line-up was a webinar on beam hopping, the latest feature to be added to the DVB-S2X specification.
