In a press release issued on December 15th, the joint holders of intellectual property rights in DVB-S2 announced the terms of their licensing offer. Cumulative royalties are fixed at a maximum of US$1 per product, or US$0.50 for quantities exceeding 500,000. There will be no requirement for broadcasters to pay a separate service license fee to broadcast to licensed receivers.
