Tender for DVB-T2 in Germany

The fourteen German media authorities in charge of licensing, control and promotion of commercial broadcasting have put the contract to operate a national DVB-T2/HEVC platform out to tender, according to their supervisory commission, ZAK. This will provide digital terrestrial television in High Definition (HD). The tender period runs until the end of January 2015 and the contract should be awarded in March. Read More

DVB-T2 in Germany

German transmitter network operator Media Broadcast has launched a large-scale trial to evaluate the DVB-T2 digital terrestrial TV distribution system in combination with the new HEVC/H.265 compression standard in Berlin. The 18-month trial also includes a multitude of other DVB Members including public and commercial broadcasters, and hardware manufacturers. Read More
