Uruguay begins DVB-T service in Montevideo

On the 1st March 2007, Multicanal Uruguay began a DVB-Pay TV service in the city of Montevideo.
Initially the service will offer 52 TV programmes on 9 UHF TV channels; utilising 40% of the available capacity.
The service will then be extended to provide additional TV programmes and services using the 24 UHF channels allocated.
The officially launch of the Multicanal service is on Wednesday the 28th March 2007.
