Teracom buys Danish transmitter network

Swedish-owned Teracom has taken control of the Danish terrestrial TV and radio networks, reports Broadband TV News. The deal follows an agreement with the public broadcaster Danmarks Radio (DR) and commercial network TV2
The acquisition, due to be finalised after the summer, includes the operator Broadcast Service Denmark (BSD), 34 broadcast towers and a fibre distribution network. For strategic reasons, DR will retain its multiplexes and transmitters for radio and TV.
The Teracom Group already owns pay-TV operator Boxer TV which already has a 12-year licence on the Danish terrestrial network.
