Synaptics and Twise join the DVB Project

DVB is pleased to welcome two new Members to the organization: the Steering Board has this month approved the memberships of Synaptics Inc. and Twise SAS.

Headquartered in California, Synaptics Inc. has been developing integrated circuits for user interface solutions since 1986. The company partners with intelligent system providers who are integrating multiple experiential technologies into digital platforms, combining Synaptics’ differentiated technologies in touch, display and biometrics with a new generation of advanced connectivity and AI-enhanced video, vision, audio, speech and security processing.

Nick Dunn, Senior Director of Marketing, Multimedia SoC at Synaptics said: “As a key industry leader in connected edge devices, Synaptics sees membership of DVB as a natural next step in its evolution. The DVB Project has a rich history of technical specification and standards development. The network of DVB members and associated access to digital media delivery insights complement the increasing focus and commitment of Synaptics to continued technological innovation at the edge.”

Founded in 2017 and based in the south of France, Twise SAS is a company specialized in the design and development of secured solutions for the digital pay-TV market, mostly for products such as CI Plus conditional access modules (in both USB and PCMCIA form factors). The mission of Twise is to provide flexible turnkey solutions compliant with any environment and respecting the operators’ standards.

On the company’s reasons for joining the DVB Project, Twise President Xavier Teil, said: “The ultimate goal is to contribute to the CM / TM groups for CI Plus, which is our core business, and to encourage new DVB initiatives to build our future.

The start of the year also sees the University of Luxembourg re-joining DVB as a Member, having withdrawn at the end of 2019.
