Six applications for spectrum auction

The German regulator BNA has received 6 applications for the frequency auction which is to be held in the spring of 2010. The auction includes frequencies in the 800 MHz, 1.8 GHz, 2 GHz and 2.6 GHz ranges which are to be used for mobile telecommunication services.
BNA will now evaluate the applications and decide if the companies can participate in the auction. The regulator would not provide the names of the companies, but it is expected that the four existing mobile operators ( E-Plus, O2 Germany, T-Mobile Germany, Vodafone Germany) are among them.
