RTVE begins HD DTT roll-out

Public service broadcaster RTVE has begun broadcasting HD programming in Madrid using channel 55, the channel which was previously occupied by La2.
The regions of Barcelona and Valencia will be the next to launch the HD channel, TVE HD, as part of the channels nationwide rollout.
In the final Spanish DTT plan, RTVE has been allocated two nationwide multiplexes.
RTVE also plans to offer its cultural service Cultural.es in standard-definition along side its HD service.
