Romania Launches DTT Tender

Romania’s National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM) has officially launched a tender for five DTT multiplex licences with a deadline of May 8, 2014.

Four of the multiplexes will be in UHF and one VHF, employing DVB-T2, with the first multiplex allocated to FTA services and required to reach 90% of the population and cover 80% of the country by the end of 2016.

The four other multiplexes will each be required to employ at least 36 transmitters in their coverage area by May 1, 2017.

The starting price for each multiplex will be €300,000, with 10-year licences coming into effect from June 17, 2015.
