RAI invests further in DTT
RAI has announced that it will invest 700-750 million Euro in DTT by 2012. The transmission structure will benefit by 290 million Euros and around 100 million will be invested in content.
Commercial broadcaster Mediaset has also announced plans to spend a further 1 billion Euro to complete the switch from analogue to digital transmission and also to increase its coverage.
Viewers outside the DTT coverage area will also be able to access the new DTT services from RAI, Mediaset, and Telecom Italia via satellite from June when the Tivu Sat free-to-air satellite platform becomes available
