RAI gets €33m to expand DTT


Italian Communications Minister, Paola Gentiloni has issued a ministerial decree assigning €33m to RAI for the expansion of DTT coverage throughout Italy during 2007. The money will also be used for the creation of new TV content to stimulate the take up of DTT.
In total RAI expect to spend €145m to extend digital coverage to 85% of the population.
Total resources budgeted for DTT by the Government for 2007-2009 are €300m.
