Programme slots offered for tender

The Portuguese government is inviting candidates to tender for slots on the country’s free-to-air DTT platform.
Applications must be submitted to the Media Regulator by the 21st January 2009. Licences will be assigned in April 2009 and will be valid for a 15-year period on condition that services begin by April 2010.
Licences can be renewed.
Candidates will be judged on quality of the programming, diversity of the programme offer and the amount of European and Portuguese content.
Companies expressing an interest in the tender include Zon Multimedia, Cofina and Controlinveste
