Poland firms up on DTT specification


Broadband TV News reports that the country has agreed a digital specification for the forthcoming DTT services.
The report from Satkurier says that the country has opted for MPEG-4, H.264 AVC compression for video and 5.1 MPEG-2 or AC-3 Dolby Digital as well as E-AC-3 Dolby Digital Plus for audio.
The plans have been passed to the EC for approval and if this is forthcoming they will be signed of by the Minister for infrastructure at the end of June.
A single multiplex is expected to be launched in September.
