Peru begins testing DTT standards


DTT tests are starting in Peru this week according to reports on Andina, the country’s official government website. The article reports that tests using both broadcast and cellular technology using DVB-T/H, ATSC and ISDB-T will take place in the city of Iquitos.
The Vice- Minister of Communications, Cayetana Aljovín, said DTV trials of the chosen system are expected to begin in 2009, but that analogue TV would not be switched of until DTV is fully established, which is likely take 10-15 years.
