Pay to view DTT raises broadcaster revenues

Both Mediaset and Telecom Italia Media have reported increases in the revenue from their Pay to view DTT services.
Mediaset sold 1.1 million rechargeable pre-paid cards in 2006 and a further 4.1 million re-charges. This generated €108 million compared to €44 million in 2005.
Rival Telecom Italia Media reported that its Pay to view DTT revenues reached €31.5 million in 2006 more than three times its €10.4 million revenue in 2005.
