Pay DTT service approval expected this week

It is widely expected that the Spanish government will legalise the launch of Pay DTT services later this week on the 13th August.
Previously approval was expected in July but this was postponed due to the need to address problems caused by the recent terrorist attacks according to reports.
Most broadcasters on the DTT platform have already requested a licence to be able to offer pay services and the government would like the new services to be in place prior to analogue switch-off in April 2010.
One supplier had announced that some 400,000 Pay DTT boxes would be in the shops this summer but so far this has not occurred.
