Only 85% coverage at Switch-over
Jane Hannahovou, head of network operator CRa, has warned that DTT coverage will only be 85% at the proposed analogue switch-off date in October 2010. Hannahovou went on to say that up to 1.5 million people, many in five or six large towns including Karlovy, Vary, Most and Liberec, might not have coverage by then.
Coverage is expected to reach 95% of the population in 2011, with full coverage by 2012.
Cra, the Czech Digital Group (CDG) and Telefónica O2 are the designated multiplex operators in the Czech republic.
