NRK go for HD only on the DTT platform

NRK announced, at the recent Telenor “Broadcast Day”, that it is to replace the standard definition (SD) feeds on all three principle DTT channels with High Definition (HD) feeds.
The change will be made possible by the release of additional DTT capacity in early 2011.
The analogue switch off was completed in December 2009 and five multiplexes have been reserved. Norway already uses the MPEG-4, H.264 AVC for programme compression.
