Morocco starts DTT broadcasting


Morocco started digital television trial broadcasts in January 2007, according to L’Ecomomiste. Already 54% of the population are covered including the cities of Casablanca, Rabat, Fés, Meknés, Tangier, Oujda and Marrakech. By June services will be extended to Agadir, Laâyoune, Figuig, Tétouan and Nador increasing coverage to 77% of the population.
Morocco and other countries of the Maghreb have agreed to go digital by 2015.
