MiniDig DTT subscribers increase


The Hungarian FTA DTT platform MinDig TV and it sister pay service MinDig TV Extra both enjoyed strong growth in the first nine months of this year.
According to their operator, the national transmission company Antenna Hungária, they ended September being viewed in 300,000 and 42,000 households respectively.
The growth in the take-up of the two services has been accompanied by an increase in DVB-T reception equipment, with there being almost 850,000 households with a DVB-T MPEG-4 compatible receiver as of this month.
The average price of MinDig TV compatible set-top boxes and integrated TVs fell by 25% in the first none months of this year.
Furthermore, since the launch of the platform, the average price of DVB-T set-top boxes has fallen by 77% and 61% in the case of integrated digital TVs.
