Mediaset increases revenue and adds more DTT services


Mediaset Premium has announced a 38.9% increase in its 2009 earnings for its Pay-DTT TV platform. The platform generated a total revenue of €560.6 million compared with its 2008 result of €403.7 million. By the 31st December the number of active pay-TV cards reached 3.7 million up from 2.9 million at the end of 2008.
Mediaset has also announced that it will launch three new TV services on the DTT platform at the end of the year.
The three services will be a youth version of the existing Italia 1, which will be designated Italia 2, a continuous news service and La5 which will provide a combination of programmes from Canale 5, Italia 1 and Rete 4.
