Kyrgyztelecom launches DVB-T2 & DVB-S2


Kyrgyztelecom has launched its terrestrial digital TV services under the DVB-T2 standard and satellite TV services under the DVB-S2 standard in Kyrgyzstan.

Almost 60 percent of the country’s residents will be covered in the first expansion stage, and this expected to grow to 79 percent by July 2015, 88 percent by November 2015 and 95 percent in September 2016. Ukrainian company Quant-Ether won the tender for DVB-T2 equipment supplies, in a contract worth USD 2.643 million. French company Eutelsat Communications provides satellite equipment and capacity.
