Iran to launch 8 DTT channels
The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) is planning to launch eight digital television channels with various types of programmes. IRIB chief Ezzatollah Zarghami announced. He went on to say that the new channels will cover a wide range of entertainment, news, educational and scientific programmes and stressed the great potential of national channels in producing diverse programmes.
IRIB’s achievements and new plans were discussed during the 24th meeting on media technologies in Tehran.
The IRIB chief also pointed out that promoting the programmes’ contents, improving graphical attractions and monitoring the producing systems are among the major priorities of the organisation. IRIB recently launched its first teleshopping channel offering a broad range of Iranian products to consumers.
