Impulsa will back Pay-DTT if required

Eladio Gutiérrez, RTVE Digital’s director and new president of Spanish DTT association Impulsa TDT, says he personally supports pay-per-view on DTT according to reports from Rapid TV News.
His support adds weight to the growing number of companies who wish to have Pay-TV services on the DTT platform.
However in his role as Impulsa TDT’s president he made clear that if Impulsa’s members want to back Pay-TV services then he will also sign up to it but that the decision is up to them and not him.
Some legal experts think that although the position with respect to Pay-TV is not clearly stated in the current DTT law it allows the possibility of Pay-TV services on the DTT platform but that a government resolution might be needed to authorise such a service.
Guttérrez is further quoted as saying “ In any case I think this subject should be studied by the new government after the general elections on March 9th”
