Government wants “digital dividend” sale sooner

Spain’s government wants to accelerate the ASO process so that the “digital dividend” sale can be brought forward by two years, according to Rapid TV News.
Bids to allocate the mobile spectrum will be made in the first half of next year but under current plans, these frequencies would not be ready until 2015 because they are still being used by the broadcasters.
The Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce wants to have the frequencies ready for sale in 2013, a process encouraged by the mobile operators who want to have the spectrum at their disposal as soon as possible.
