Free to view satellite programmes in Italy

A free to view satellite service called Tivù Sat is expected to launch on 31st July 2009. The platform will offer viewers access to programmes already available on the DTT platform.
Currently DTT services are available to 85% of the population.
It is also expected that HD services will be made available from the satellite but it is not known if these will be free to view or encrypted.
