DVB-S2X: An Industry in Transition

The SATELLITE Conference and Exhibition attracts satellite end-users representing the entire ecosystem of the satellite community including broadcast, military and government, enterprise, telecommunications, mobility, maritime, commercial and more. The annual event is being held from the 16 – 19 March in Washington, DC.
In recent years the agenda has covered the need for more satellite capacity, the launch of new services and the continued drive to reduce OPEX. These concerns prompted the industry to look for extensions to the DVB-S2 standard that would be capable of increasing transmission efficiency. This higher transmission standard is now a reality: DVB-S2X.
S2X will feature in the conference program as part of the Broadcast Forum in a session titled DVB-S2X: An Industry in Transition on 18 March at 13:45-15:00. The panel will be moderated by Thomas Wrede (SES) and is comprised of Gerard Faria (TeamCast), Joe Santoru (DIRECTV), Frederik Simoens (Newtec) and Peter Siebert (DVB).
