DVB-T broadcasting network operation started


NEC Corporation has completed the supply of the first 12 digital terrestrialDVB-T transmitters to Morocco.
Ordered by the National Company of Radio and TVBroadcasting (SNRT) of Morocco, the transmitters have been installed in Rabat,Casablanca, Marrakech, Tangier, Oujda and Meknes. Network operations began inMarch 2007 and coverage is 54% of the population. A further 10 transmitters arenow being installed to serve other major cities. Analogue switch off is plannedfor 2015.
