DVB @ IBC 2012

August 10, 2012

On September 7th IBC 2012 will open its doors and DVB will again be present to show the efficiency of DVB systems:

Demos

A DVB-T2 transmission combining HD and mobile signals will be received on a T2 televsion and a Sony T2-Lite demodulator evaluation board. The T2-Lite demo has become noticeably smaller since our demo last year, showing the increased maturity of the technology.

A service compatible DVB-3DTV Phase 2A concept demo will combine full HD 2D and 3D signals in a spectrum efficient manner. This combined DVB-S2 signal is simultaneously received as 2D on an iDTV and as 3D on a Pace prototype set-top box.

All the demo TV’s will be using a new combined DVB-T2/C2/S2 demodulator chip from Sony, and to emphasize this multi-standard suppport we will also be displaying T2, C2 and S2 modulators from Newtec, Televes and Teamcast.

Conference

The IBC 2012 conference will also include many DVB related topics and special focus sessions:

8 September 11:00-13:00 – DVB Project: Technologies in Action and their Impact. Chaired by former DVB TM Chair Ulrich Reimers, this session includes various DVB leaders and topics such as DVB-S2, DVB-3DTV and DVB-NGH.
