DVB elects new Chairman

30 June 2008

At the 58th meeting of its Steering Board last week, the DVB Project elected Phil Laven as its new Chairman. He succeeds Theo Peek, who had been in the position for the previous 12 years. Mr. Laven, a former Technical Director of the European Broadcasting Union, had been elected as DVB’s first Vice-Chairman in October of last year.

The members of the Steering Board thanked Theo Peek for his excellent leadership of the DVB Project, of which he was one of the “founding fathers”. Representing Philips, he was elected as DVB Chairman at the 4th meeting of the General Assembly in October 1996.  His colleagues and friends in the DVB Project wish him a happy and healthy retirement.
