DTT take-up hurts cable

The fast growth of KPN’s DTT platform Digitenne is starting to hurt the subscription figures of the Dutch cable operators in what has been a highly cable dominated country.
Cable operators are reported to be hitting back with aggressive marketing campaigns.
KPN reported that it had over 670,000 DT homes by the end of September.
The report from Broadband TV News says that cable suppliers such as UPC has seen its penetration fall below 75% and Ziggo is said to be around 80%. Before the introduction of DTT cable penetration percentage was said to have been in the nineties.
