DTT Progress in Slovenia

Although analogue switch of in Slovenia is planned for completion by the 1st December the public service broadcaster RTV has fallen behind in the deployment of the new digital transmitters. This is said to be due to problems in training enough engineers to install and operate the system. Even with this problem the coverage at the time of the official switch off date is still likely to be 85% for its multiplex A. The second multiplex, multiplex B, is operated by Norway’s Norkring, and should be fully operation by its September target date.
Despite RTV’s problems, there is at this stage no intention by the government to but back the ASO date.
