DTT introduction delayed until 2012

The introduction of DTT in Bosnia and Herzegovina is to be delayed until spring 2012, instead of an earlier plan for the first phase to be completed in October 2011, according to local daily Nezavisne Novine.
The Public Broadcasting Service says that the delay is because of an appeal against the result of the international tender for the DTT equipment. Croatia’s Ericsson Nikola Tesla was declared the winner, but domestic company Unis Telekom has complained to the country’s Office for Appeals. Consequently it is unlikely that the deadlines will be met for the construction of links and transmitters in the regions of Sarajevo, Mostar and Banja Luka, which would cover about one million viewers.
