DTT coverage reaches 94.83%
According to the May report from ImpulsaTDT, DTT coverage has now reached 94.83% of the population.
DTT penetration for the whole of Spain is now 53.6% with the highest penetration, 70%, in Catalunya.
In the first three months of 2009, 2.3 million DTT receivers were sold bringing the total bought since the launch of DTT to 17.5 million.
On the 30th June analogue switch-off is set to take place in 500 municipalities across the country, affecting 3 million people. The regions affected include Oviedo, Zaragoza, and Mataró.
It is not known if these switchovers will be affected by the recent announcements of possible delays in the switch over programme. (See previous item “Delays to first ASO’s “)
