DTT bidding process soon

Although the bidding process for DTT licences in Portugal has yet to begin some potential bidders are already being excluded. Parliamentary affairs minister Augusto Santos Silva has told local media that he will respect the decision of the country’s competition regulator, which has said that PT Multimedia will not be allowed to bid for a DTT licence if it continues to hold on to its cable network. Any company that already holds 50% of a platform will not be allowed to bid. Two DTT licence awards are expected, one for Pay TV and one for Free to View TV.
