CRa reconfirm interest in DVB-T2

The Czech national transmission company and multiplex operator Ceske Radiokomunikace (CRa) has recently reconfirmed its interest in DVB-T2.
CRa is currently undertaking a non-commercial DVB-T2 trial, using the Prague Zizkov transmitter, to distribute four channels all in HD. They are CT HD, Nova HD, Prima HD and Barrandov HD.
In a recent interview CRa’s executive director Kamil Levinsky said that he intends to offer these channels commercially on the country’s first and second multiplexes but does not see a future for HD using DVB-T. However the CRa is prepared to offer HD services on the DTT platform using DVB-T2 but doing so would require a request from broadcasters as well as the necessary frequency allocation from the Czech Telecommunications Office (CTO).
