Ceske Radiokomunikace reports on DVB-T completion and DVB-T2
Ceske Radiokomunikace has reported the successful completion of the transition from analogue to digital terrestrial broadcasting (DVB-T).
Three DTT networks cover 99.6% of the population and the terrestrial platform remains the preferred option for TV broadcasting in the Czech Republic serving more than 50% of TV households.
A priority for the company is the introduction of HD TV broadcasting using DVB-T2 and the expansion of pay TV in the country.
Currently, Radiokomunikace operates three multiplexes: Multiplex 1 covering 99.6% of population is operated on behalf of public-service operators and includes four TV channels and eight radio programmes; Multiplex 2 covering 99.6% of population is owned by Radiokomunikace and offers five TV channels; and Multiplex 3 covering 95.7% of population is operated by Czech Digital Group, a subsidiary of Radiokomunikace and contains two TV channels and one radio programme.
