Catalan broadcaster wants to restart HD DTT tests

Catalan public broadcaster Televisió de Catalunya (TVC) wants to restart the HD tests it stopped last summer. The tests were stopped because of the inclusion of the Valenciano autonomous public channel Canal 9 in its multiplex,which consequently resulted in the loss of the necessary free bit rate for the HD tests.
TVC plan to ask the central government for formal permission to continue its HD tests on DTT, according to an item on the Rapid TV News website.
This time TVC wants to use space on the third UHF DTT multiplex, which it was given by the government to enable Catalan people to watch the Comunidad Valenciana’s channels and Communidad Valenciana’s people to watch Catalunya’s channels.
Another HD/DTT trial is currently underway in the region of Aragon
