Boxer launches in Denmark


Boxer who won the right to operate the countries DTT platform in 2008 have begun broadcasting.
Boxer Denmark launched its services on the 1st February 2009 in Jutland to cover the west of Denmark and will be expanding its network nationwide during 2009.
Boxers Pay TV services are compressed using MPEG-4 whilst the public channels DR1, DR2 and TV2 still use MPEG-2. Set top boxes must be capable of decoding both MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 until 2012 when all services are to be switched to MPEG-4.

Full analogue switch of is set for completion on the 31st October 2009.
