Analogue switch-off postponed until 2008

In a declaration made at the Council of Ministers meeting in Brussels, the Italian Minister of Communications, Mario Landolfi, announced that Italy has postponed its analogue switch-off to 2008.
The government had initially planned to end analogue terrestrial television transmissions on 31 December 2006.
