DVB seeks to fill key leadership roles

With the chairs of both the Steering Board and Commercial Module stepping down in the coming months, the DVB Project is actively seeking candidates to fill these two pivotal leadership roles. Those interested in applying for these non-remunerated positions must already be working for a DVB Member company and have the support of that company’s management to undertake the related tasks.

In both cases, candidates should be senior managers and leaders within the digital media space. The chair of the Commercial Module would ideally come from a broadcaster or operator. Neither role is a full-time position, but both involve committing time on a weekly basis, with more intensive periods in the run-up to meetings.

Steering Board chair

The chair of the Steering Board – who is also the chair of the General Assembly and of the DVB Project as a whole – must have the capacity to generate, draft and present proposals for driving the organization forward. This person is a public figurehead for DVB, working closely with the Head of the Project Office and the Head of Technology, as well as with the four Module chairs.

Commercial Module chair

DVB’s success is underpinned by its market-led approach, which is driven by the Commercial Module. Its chair must be knowledgeable about content production and delivery technologies and relevant commercial drivers, keeping in touch with the latest industry product and service trends. Experience of chairing large meetings (40+ participants) is required, along with the ability to deal with potentially controversial topics. The Commercial Module chair may also speak on behalf of the DVB Project.

Applications

There is more information about the functioning of the Steering Board and the Modules in DVB’s Memorandum of Understanding and – in particular – its Rules and Procedures. These documents are available in the Policies and Procedures section of this site.

Any interested candidates who work for a DVB Member company and believe they fulfil the requirements for one of these roles should contact the DVB Project Office (dvb@dvb.org) by the end of November 2023.
