CCMA/3Cat joins the DVB Project

The Steering Board of the DVB Project has approved the membership of Corporació Catalana de Mitjans Audiovisuals (CCMA), the public radio and television company owned by the government of Catalonia and known since 2023 under the name 3Cat.

CCMA/3Cat

Headquartered in Barcelona, CCMA/3Cat’s mission is to act as a public service with a firm commitment to quality, independence, and the promotion of Catalan language and culture. 3Cat’s main channel, TV3, has been the most widely viewed by Catalan audiences for the past ten years and the company is an important driving force for production in Spain as a whole.

CCMA’s engineering department is dedicated to developing applications and systems for content production, workflow management, and distribution, participating in European and national research and innovation projects. Currently, CCMA is coordinating the RTVE-FORTA DVB-I working group, which is planning a DVB-I pilot in Spain.

In joining DVB, we’re excited to contribute to the collaborative development of open standards that are shaping the future of digital media distribution. Through our involvement in the DVB-I standard, we aim to contribute meaningful insights and support the successful implementation of this next-generation media distribution standard across Europe,” said Natàlia Prats, Chief Technology Officer of CCMA/3Cat.
