DVB launches global competition for DVB-I user interfaces
The DVB Project has launched a global competition aimed at fostering the development of innovative and user-friendly DVB-I clients and applications. Open to individuals, startups, academic teams, and established companies worldwide, this competition invites participants to reimagine television interfaces and shape the future of viewer interaction across various devices.
This competition emphasizes enhancing the end-user experience by pushing the boundaries of how audiences interact with next-generation television services. While DVB-I’s technical capabilities have been well established, this initiative seeks to spotlight creative design and usability, encouraging entries that provide seamless and engaging user interfaces.
Cash prizes
Participants will have the chance to win a share of €17,000 in cash prizes, including a top prize of €10,000. Both traditional visual interfaces and experimental applications, such as voice-driven or AI-personalized designs, are welcome as long as they leverage DVB-I to enhance content discovery and enjoyment.
While the final submission deadline is 31 October 2025, potential entrants are strongly encouraged to submit an early Expression of Interest. Winners will be announced in mid-December 2025, with prize-giving set for March 2026 at DVB World.
