The March 2025 issue of DVB Scene magazine highlights the new DVB-I pilot taking shape in Spain. The cover story, by 3Cat’s Jordi Mata, is just one of several articles focused on DVB’s solution for internet-centric service discovery: there’s also a look at a pair of university theses on the topic, deployments for a PoC in Ireland and on a pan-European satellite platform, synergies with 5G broadcast, and the benefits of taking an API-based approach to DVB-I development. DVB’s new accessibility guidelines – another DVB-I related story – are also introduced.
See below for direct links to all of these DVB-I related stories.
There’s a lot more alongside this feast of DVB-I, including a provocative piece from DVB’s chair Remo Vogel on the potential for AI to completely upend media distribution as we know it today:
“AI is ushering in the next stage of digital transformation – the post-internet era. The long-term impact of this AI revolution remains uncertain but let’s try to think beyond the status quo,” he writes.
He goes on to set out three predictions for the future. See whether you agree with what he writes on pages 6–7.
