The Ultra HD Forum Italia (HDFI), at its recent annual conference, presented an innovation award to the DVB Project. The prize recognizes the steps DVB has taken in recent years to address IP-based delivery through the development of DVB-I and related specifications.
The HDFI is a trade association that was established in 2006 to promote and support the use of emerging audiovisual and media technologies such as HD, UHD and integrated broadcast–broadband distribution.
DVB’s Head of Technology, Emily Dubs, was a speaker at the forum’s 15th annual conference in November, during a session on new solutions for successful transitions to IP. With reference to the innovation award presented to the DVB Project, she said:
“TV delivery is undergoing big changes, and the shift to true hybrid models will be just as significant as the original move from analogue to digital broadcast. We’re proud to receive this award, which reflects our efforts to support this shift through our work on solutions like DVB-I, DVB-DASH, Targeted Advertising, ABR multicast and Native IP. We’re grateful to the HDFI for recognizing and supporting our work.”
