IBC 2010 Innovation Award

June 29, 2010   More good news for DVB-T2! BBC R&D and the DVB Project have been shortlisted for the IBC 2010 Innovation Award in the Content Delivery category. Other categories include content creation and content management.   The development of a second generation terrestrial broadcasting format created the huge increases in transmission efficiency, ruggedness and flexibility required for the UK Freeview HD services. The DVB-T2 study group was led by BBC R&D but involved 70 individuals representing 40 companies from around the world.   The IBC Innovation Awards are unique in celebrating not just the technology but the collaboration between suppliers and end user to create commercially successful and creatively empowering solutions. The winners in each of the three categories will be announced at the IBC Awards Ceremony on Sunday 12 September. We look forward to seeing you there!   www.ibc.org
