DVB Pavilion at BroadcastAsia2004

The DVB Pavilion at this year’s Broadcast Asia is proud to showcase two new landmark specifications, DVB-S2 the most advanced satellite distribution technology available today and DVB-H for accessing DVB services on handheld devices. MHP will also have a strong presence in the Pavilion.

The new DVB specifications and other documentation are readily available and DVB experts are on hand to answer questions. The DVB Pavilion is also hosting a number of demonstrations provided by the following members of the DVB Project: ADB, Irdeto Access, Osmosys, Rohde & Schwarz and Strategy & Technology with SysMedia.

DVB is demonstrating Diversity Reception which provides more reliable reception to mobile devices and indoor portable televisions.  The demo shows the use of two or more antennas to provide better reception and immunity to impulsive interference.

ADB (Advanced Digital Broadcast) is exhibiting its unrivalled range of cutting edge MHP products for terrestrial, cable, satellite and IP.

Irdeto Access, a world leader in content security solutions for broadcast, Internet and mobile networks, is showing DVB Conditional Access solutions Irdeto M-Crypt and Irdeto PIsys. Also on hand is the Irdeto PIright, a content protection solution for Internet and mobile networks. All solutions provide the highest levels of protection against content and revenue theft and offer operators optimal revenue generating opportunities at a minimal cost of ownership.

Osmosys is demonstrating its award winning MHP middleware, applications and tools solutions for the cable, terrestrial and satellite broadcast/operator markets.

Rohde & Schwarz is exhibiting its solutions for DVB-H MPEG source signals with DVB-H specific frames and timing, online IP data insertion, test modulators and operational DTV transmitters, identification and reception of DVB-H modulated signals, and DVB-H analysis on MPEG transport streams.

Strategy & Technology together with SysMedia are jointly demonstrating a complete interactive digital teletext service using SysMedia’s PLASMA MAGENTA content management and production system and published in both ETSI-MHEG and MHP within the same DVB service using S&T’s TSBroadcaster. MHEG and MHP services produced from the same source content are displayed on separate set-top receivers.
