Interest in DVB-T2 strong

Czech tower company Ceske Telekomunikace (CRo) has expressed its interest in securing the country’s fourth DTT multiplex especially if it can be used for DVB-T2 services.
Kamil Levinsky, the new director of CRo, gave the news during an interview with Digizone, reports Broadband TV News.
The CRo is currently testing DVB-T2 with the aim of establishing a D book for uniform standards similar to the one that currently exists in the UK.
Levinsky expects receivers with DVB-T2 tuners to be available in the Czech market in the first half of 2012.
In a previous interview, Levinsky had expressed the view that three quarters of the Czech population may be able to watch the London Olympics next year in HD over DVB-T2.
He still believes this to be possible and that sporting events such as the Olympics are a major opportunity for the introduction of DVB-T2.
