T-Mobile to launch DVB-H services

Deutsche Telekom is planning to launch a DVB-H mobile TV service next year according to a report from Broadband TV News.
Telekom’s mobile division T-mobile already operates a UMTS mobile TV network and has the TV rights for the German football Bundesliga. Some reports say that the UMTS network becomes very congested when football events are being broadcast and that transmitting the service using DVB-H would clearly ease this problem.
Previous attempts to launch DVB-H services in Germany have failed and it is reported that the operator does not want to confirm the launch of DVB-H services at the moment but is exploring all possibilities.
