DSO plan approved

The Italian Government has approved an analogue switch over plan which will take place on a phased regional basis in 16 regions between 2009 and 2012. Four regions one including Rome will make the change in 2009 and the process will continue until 2012 when the regions of Sicily and Calabria complete the switch over.
By 2010 it is estimated that 70% of the population will have completed the transition to DTT services.
